away in ohio
Well, here we are. Cincinnati. I have been meaning to look up that song from Babes and Toyland, anyone remember?? It has been really good to be with Mom and Katie for all this surgery/hospital stuff (that part isn't really very fun), but we have had a good time otherwise. We are glad we could come to help and be a part.
Here is a little picture recap of our time so far:
My sweet boy is now 4 months old...and just as happy as can be. Really. SO happy.
Katie has been brave and courageous through all of this. She literally has a new face, and I salute her for her bravery as she continues!
(Wade is randomly giving the peace sign.)
Our normal spot waiting for Katie's turn to see the Dr.
P.s. the dr and his assistants the other day told me Wade has a perfectly shaped head because sometimes they have to reconstruct babies heads (how awful!!!!!), but his is just like they like 'em.
This is typical. All wrapped up trying to get him to sleep and all he does is look up and grin at me. The little stink knows what his momma loves.
I wasn't so sure about this place...a huge store called Jungle Jims. He has a porta potty picture spot that supposedly is how King Henry somethin-or-other had his potty decorated. Well, we can prove we were there.
We are staying at the Ronald McDonald house and I am so impressed and grateful for a place like this! It is so well kept and just lovely. Volunteers run the place with EVERYTHING.
It's a nice place to find others with children going through hard sicknesses/treatments/surgeries/etc, and everyone is able to find support in each other. I have really felt grateful that Wade is healthy...I am no good when I see tiny people suffering.
And P.S. I didn't know there would be so many people with southern accents here...I mean I guess we're at the corner of Kentucky, Tennessee and Ohio, so there's a mix of peoples. But sometimes when I meet people and they start off in that southern drawl, I just giggle. Love it. (But also lots of people here are from Georgia, West Virginia, etc. Deep south!)
These are pictures from the day we left St George, the day after Mom, D, and K got home from Ohio. When Katie still had the awful headgear on. Thank goodness that is off!!
La familia.
I am desperately missing my Perris. It's pathetic.
But NOT, because he's my man and i need him. We are soooo excited to see him in a couple of weeks! We need our husband and father. Bad.
Wade is much bigger now and his Dad needs to see him and his adorableness.

ReplyDeleteHe is so adorable! And tell Katie she looks so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love seeing these pictures. LOVE that you are there with them and LOVE that you bring brightness to a potentially dismal situation. You are one awesome Chica and your eyes just sparkle in the background of the picture of Katie smiling :) LOVE THAT.
