The Sleeping Saga Continues
I just wanted to share a story that happened about a month and half ago. Just before Wade started sleeping through the night, bless his little heart when he did, he would sometimes wake up every two hours. One particular night the tone was set for Wade to be eating every two hours. Let me preface this a bit more by explaining that I have been given a gift to sleep through anything including a crying baby at the foot of the bed. My sleeping gift extends to waking at the slightest peep of something urgent. It even extends further to napping, I can lay down fall asleep with no alarm and sleep for almost exactly 15 min or 30 min depending on how much time i have.
Anyway back to the real story (to be read with a deep action movie trailer voice). On this particular night, the sky was dark, I don't recall the presence of a moon. I awoke to the stir of a baby, only this time something was different. The air was heavy, quiet, and still. I peered through the blackness, eyes struggling to penetrate it, to the other side of the bed only to find that my second half was missing. I used all my energy to squint, glancing around the room, wishing I had eaten more carrots the day before, but she was gone. My mind started racing, " where is she?...", was all I could think, it was a short race. Then suddenly through the stillness came sound..., something like dishes. "Is she doing dishes?" I thought next. I considered shrugging it off and going back to sleep. But then it occurred to me that Ali never does the dishes at 4am in the morning. I got out of bed and used my native american hunting skills to creep out into the hallway. As i turned the corner a dim light was on, almost like a night light. I peered into the kitchen and there she was. Sitting on the floor in front of the sink with a bowl of cereal in all her glory! She was clothed in the next closest thing to her birthday suit, her hair a bit disheveled. Her gaze slowly moved from her cereal up until it met mine. All she could say was, "I was starving". Smiles were exchanged, the air thinned a bit, and sleep was once again achieved (end voice).
Summary of the story is that I have the cutest wife ever, and i couldn't help but laugh when i saw her sitting there. She is a real silly billy sometimes.
