Perris-isms

We truly enjoy entertaining one another, Perris and I.  Perris provides plenty of this for me.  Especially in the new realm of Fatherhood, entertainment has come to a new level and really have made me laugh; another few have been followed by my stern look with a serious tone of "do NOT do that."  Hah!  Speaking of the funny ones, however, see below pictures:

We are leaving Lynette and Stephan's on 4th of July.  As we get into the car I hear Perris say something like "...for you to get used to..." as he picks off the greenery of a tree after putting Wade in the car.  The full sentence actually was "here, Wade.  I'm going to put this in your seat so you can get used to the smell."  He is so funny!  As I write this I am asking him "What were you thinking in that moment?"  He responds, "I was thinking that it has some nice smells, like oily smells like peppermint or something.  He can stay fresh!" or "I bet this smells good I bet Wade'll like it."  Had to grab a picture of that one, as we left it in his seat for an hour or so.

Other less-funny fatherhood moments: I came back into Church after nursing and had Wade laying on my legs.  Perris was leaning over talking to him and from the corner of my eye I see Perris put his finger in his mouth, then take it to Wade's mouth saying, "here, have a little taste of that!"  He touched the gum in his mouth and wanted Wade to taste it!!  He also did this with a sugary substance this morning.  Both of these incidents were followed with the stern reaction from the mother.  Silly man.

The one that really got me giggling today was after the closing hymn in Church-Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me.  Great song.  We barely finished and are in silence as the person giving the closing prayer is about to begin, Perris looks at me and says, "That's like the old-school version of Jesus Take the Wheel" (by Carrie Underwood).  I giggled all the way through the prayer.
I love that silly billy.
