Katie m'lady.

This is Katie. She is 15. She is my youngest sister. She has Treacher Collins Syndrome. She is currently in Ohio waiting for a major craniofacial surgery set for tomorrow, June 1st. The second one is set for first week of July. They are going to be fixing her upper and lower jaw this summer, to make her mouth bigger, helping her breathe and eat and become more independent. This is not fun for anyone, but especially not for Katie. I ache for her. She's mighty brave, though. I'd like to ask you to pray for the success of these surgeries and for her spirits to be high, and for good healing.
How many of us had to worry about things like this when we were 15? No less miss an entire summer before your sophomore year of high school to have this done.
If you'd like to follow this journey, my parents have put a blog together to document and update, here. The link is also below under "Katie Summer 2011".
Thank you, my friends. We know that heaven is watching out for her.

good luck katie! hope everything goes well. i look forward to following your blog, your recovery and your success!! sure love you and your family!!
