the derb
You know, I like blogging because it's a record of our family. I wish I was better at it lately!
October has been a great month. Today was a lovely day. It is raining and cold, but church meetings were uplifting and fulfilling, and I'm grateful for that. As far as an update Perris has been quite busy with school. He's pulled an all-nighter for a project, even. Ew! But we are still finding nice time to spend together. This week we took our friends Lynette and Stephen to see the Utah Valley Symphony for their birthdays. It was lovely--oh how I enjoy live music that fills my soul. It is powerful. We also had the chance to go see Ryan Shuppe and the Rubberband. Has anyone heard of them? Their most popular song is "Dream Big". You probably have heard that. But wow, were they entertaining! The Marriott school hosted it, and it was fantastic. Bring on more events like that! We even got free cds. We have enjoyed these fun things lately!
Tuesday is P's birthday; he shall be 25 years of age. We get to be the same age for about 2 1/2 months of the year. We are having some cakes tonight, dinner at Brick Oven tomorrow, and who knows what on Tuesday. He's a little busy tuesday night so we're spreading out the celebrations! He is so good to me-I am very, very, very grateful for his sweetness and love.
I leave you with a small recap of the early days of October. We were in Logan the first weekend for General Conference and we finally got to do Perris' beloved and long-awaited home run derby. Remember all those tennis balls collected? Well I think we ended up with somewhere around 30 balls. Yes we did.
The Logan cousins joined us for the party, and it was a perfect day outside on top of it all! Perris, un-suprisingly, was the only one who actually hit home runs. There were these little-leaguers who stood at the fence ready to jump and grab his balls that made it to the road.
There we are. We are kind of a big deal.
Jessica had some nice hits there. She's tough.
Kendall's up
Kyle swinging with the big guns
There he is. Such effortless power. Ugh. :)

hahahaha So glad you filled us in on the tennis balls! haha. I was curious but never got around to asking...
ReplyDeleteSo the big question is did Perris lose any of the oh so hard to collect tennis balls? Glad you guys are having fun. It's been really lonely here lately and I would KILL for some family time. SOON, hopefully soon...(at least that's what I keep telling myself to keep me going).
ReplyDeleteno, we didn't lose one of 'em :) come visit tar. love you
