from the pulpit

Perris being 2nd counselor in the bishopric at church takes his turn every now and then to conduct sacrament meeting. This proves quite hilarious at times. To give you an idea, there are 2 classics that I will always laugh about, especially the second.

When people are given callings (assignments), the congregation sustains them to show their support in their new assignment. They do this by raising their right hand. Perris named the few people and what their new callings were and said "...please manifest by the right of the raised hand..."
Oh! And the best part is that he didn't even catch it. People giggled, but he just went right on sayin' what he needed to say!

Just a couple of weeks ago the second episode occurred. He was talking about his experience getting in an accident when a mother and her children walked by and gave him a sweatshirt because it was cold...he continues, "well, to make a long shory stort..."
HAHA it gives me the giggles every time I think about it. This time I don't think anyone noticed it, but I was beside myself. Perris had no idea when I told him later.
We are all a little dyslexic sometimes, but his seems to only happen when he's in front of a big group of people. At least it spices things up for a sec!
