girls night!

last saturday night we gathered at the residence of jamiAnn's for a night of sisterly goodness.
we ate some delicious potato leek soup, among other goodies, and sat down to watch some anne of green gables.
(by the way, we discussed what gables are, and they are a part of the roof...we were correct)
about 30 minutes into movie #1, pitch darkness surrounded us suddenly.
it was snowing and a tree fell on the power cables, leaving a good part of the town of salem in darkness.
so along with childhood tradition, we busted out a game lit by candlelight:
(it was dominos)
then we began helping jami with some projects by candlelight.
then we ran out of pins.
here's what it would have looked like in the light:
(I love Lynette's face in this picture)
We did find flashlights as well, but none were as effective and bright as this beaut.
I love headlamps! And it kept sliding down over my eyebrows onto the arch of my nose
haha so funny!
here's miss addie who did admit it scared her when all the lights went off. (wearing an old nightie of lyndsey)
Jami was very clever with her cow flashlight suspended from clothing items in order to help her see "handless"
____
it was a grand adventure with lots of giggles and laughs
(and a little 1 yr old baby wandering off into the darkness because she wouldn't go to sleep)
now we just need to get together again to finish anne of green gables....
