Kolob
LAST MONDAY we took Addie with us to the ward's FHE. Jami said she was so excited she couldn't eat dinner! And she loved it (understatement)...she would have continued running down that slip and slide until she got hypothermia (she was shivering)...AND would have eaten until she threw up (she got close; her belly got noticably larger and I told her no more. When we walked to the car she kept burping!) It is fun. She loves Uncle Mader and we love her. joy and excitement of it all seen here:
Our dear Lynit (pronounced "line-it") as we affectionately call her is without husband for a month as he's off to the Alabama (my old stompin grounds back in the 1994) for basic training in the Air Force. She joined us at the temple last week, and will join us again I do believe this week. She is also staying at the Kusilek residence nightly.
Kolob Canyon was beautiful! We 'hiked to Kolob' as my dear father and husband joked as we drove in. We took a 5 mile hike into a double arch and it really was beautiful. Katie enjoyed herself and even led the group part of the way. It was early in the morning so the hike in was still cool and shady, but on the way back out a bit more toasty. We then took a drive around with the Padre to see the beauty:
Good thing Kate brought TWO pairs of sunglasses in her backpack...the one was all scratched up and with no fear or worry she took out the second and slapped 'em on.

So fun! Wish we could do some fun things like that here. It's just too hot, although I guess it's hot their too...so maybe you guys are just brave :)
