so i'm long winded...
Alright, this may be overboard...but it's documentation of life. Our children need to see this stuff, right?! to start us off, we have the handsome backside of Pierre. At Jami and James' the night before I was leaving the room and turned back..seeing Perris on this itty-bitty chair eating his dinner. I really got the giggles:
Welcome to the District of Columbia! We stayed with Corey and Beaumont in Colombia Heights. After a scrumptious dinner at The Heights restaurant (where Beau works) we checked out the view on top of their building. Very pretty:
Good conversations, good laughs. Here we are Left to Right: Corey, Beaumont, Dan, Perris, y Yo
Alright DAY #2: Off the subway in front of the Navy Memorial and National Archives. The Kusilek men! Woo woo
alright. never had a dog. never walked a dog with a handy little trash bag dispenser in case the doggy poopies while you're on a walk. The night before we walked Dan to the metro station and took little LuLu (the wire terrier of Corey and Beau)...Perris was the lucky man who got to pick up the poopie (you must get fined if you leave it!). Hilarious. then the next morning walking to the mall Little Lulie (who loved me, might I add) did it again and here's Beau picking it up. Funny.
Capitol. Beautiful weather--a bit hot, but not muggy, sticky hot like the summer months. I didn't mind it too much! We got pretty burned though...you'll see.
The whole clan out together (minus Corey who was working)
Aren't these just the most BEAUTIFUL flowers? Ann later informed me they could be Holland Tulips...they are TALL and HUGE and GORGEOUS, aren't they?
This is where we all want to sing that song... Oh say can you see!
My little boy fiance (and so happy that way) playing on the field with his kanine friend. By the way, as I said I've never had a dog. I've never experienced the sociality associated with a leash on your wrist. EVERYONE talks to you. People come up to you and ask if they can pet it. Children fill with glee as the nice doggy leaps up and licks them. People are just all around more friendly! Where did I miss this secret? It secretly made me want to have a dog. but not that bad...if we live in the country, maybe :)
Isn't this pretty? So many natural scenes to find and appreciate. This is the walkway toward the Lincoln. Mr Abe was waiting for us. This was particularly fun since Perris had not been to D.C. since he was a little boy. I grew up going pretty often, but you always appreciate it more when you're older, so it was fun for me too.
The Linc. I personally like Dan's little stance right here...
The Vietnam Wall. There is one Kusilek. It's the cousin of Dan's Dad.
Cool picture, huh? Beau got on the ground and took my camera to get this very suave shot. It's a looong way up!
Another beautiful touch of nature in the city...These were beautiful. There was a white tree right next to it...
After we parted with the elder Kusilek men, we went on to the Jefferson. A pretty walk around the Potomac
This is dearest PRK. As we sat on the steps of Mr Jefferson's house he said "hey! go over there and pretend to be a statue." I said no. So he went and did it instead. Good statue, huh.
On the Metro to Northern VA...we were so tired, so sunburned...this is authentic, i said "don't move" and we took the picture. Lively bunch, aren't we?
HAPPY WEDDING DAY Mr and Mrs Graff
Ann Knudsen Jones! Soooo wonderful to see her. Such a sweet person...I am grateful to have her for a friend!
Ann helped put together this boquet, although it did freeze the day before and had to be modified, it turned out very pretty!

Bridesmaids. In the Peachy champagne colors...The others are Lynette's sisters-in-law and Rachael, her younger sister.
The happy couple! Don't they look sharp.

the wedding party. Very GQ, don't ya think?
THE CAKES. finished at 7pm. Reception started at 6:30pm. whoops. We did our best to help out! It makes me laugh thinking about it. imagine the cakes without flowers. Imagine kevin h. driving, ashley squished in the middle with a huge cake on her lap, me on the other side with a big cake and a trash bag on my lap to keep it from spilling chocolate on my dress (and come to think of it Ashley had one on her lap, too). Every turn we died laughing because Ashley's cake would slide and I'd scream for her to hold it up or turn it left or right....and then once Kevin started to brake quickly for a light and we yelled. From then on he said "breaking, breaking..." when he was slowing down. thank you, Kev. It was a very fun adventure, one Ashley and I have had long overdue!

A note on the cakes: Good thing Perris' mom is an artist! What ever would we have done if she had been a zoo keeper? Oh DEER!
ReplyDeleteOh man, looks like fun times! So glad you had a great time. Lynnette looks beautiful. What a great memory!
